There are many signs that may indicate a possible foundation problem. Those signs include, but are not limited to, brick mortar cracks, sheetrock cracks, doors out of square, excessive floor slope, etc. Usually, there are more than one of these signs present when there is a foundation problem.
Items That Are Mistaken for Signs of Foundation Issues
Additionally, there are some items that are incorrectly assumed to be a sign of foundation problems. Corner spalling is an example of that. Also, a crack in a single brick or nail pops by themselves. Those are just cosmetic issues and don’t indicate a need for foundation repairs.
